Advantages: something for everyone

Disadvantages: not really a negative but maybe too many workout options

I've bought this magazine a few times in the past and have flicked through the pages and basically looked at the pictures. However, eight months after giving birth I felt that I needed a little motivational boost to get my figure back. I'd certainly say that this is the best £2.99 i've spent this year.

The magazine caters for all levels of fitness and although i've recently given birth I found that there were plenty of features and articles that applied to me and that I felt included in. The March edition is sold in February and unfortunately this is one month into a 3 month shape up plan, although I was easily able to pick up the key points and carry on from the second month. I'm sure I could get hold of the previous months edition from somewhere if I needed to.

It was refreshing to find a magazine that focuses on healthy eating and exercise as opposed to simply losing weight the fastest way possible. The key headings are , Shape Up, Eat Smart, Healthy You, Gym Style, Live Well and Features. The magazine seems to have a regular fitness Q&A section a focus on healthy foods including a range of recipes including a healthier fruit and nut chocolate! Fashion pages cover day to day and gymwear while there is there a celebrity focus feature too. This month this is Kelly Brook although there is also a feature with Olympic Gold Medalist Victoria Pendleton demonstrating how to get involved with some of the less well known sports. There are a few competitions and also freebies with this months being a 3 day pass to Esporta Leisure Clubs.

All in all I found this a really great magazine that has provided me with menus that I have actually cooked and enjoyed and a training plan which I have been following for a fortnight and am still enjoying! I've tried a few healthy living magazines before and been faced with various salads that look entirely unappealing and training plans that are so hard I wouldn't manage to complete one session never mind see it through the whole months. I'd say it is the first time that I've actually been excited to get the next issue of the magazine and am looking forward to getting the Ginger Cake recipe!

The only complaint that I could have is that in this one issue there are quite a few different workout options. If you want a magazine that is going to tell you what to do and when then you'll need to stay motivated otherwise this is fantastic as it encourages you to try a variety of exercise methods. In reality this is actually a positive thing!

Summary: A great read with some appealing recipes and ways to stay motivated

I often buy 'Healthy' magazine but I think I will give this one a try as well.
