Advantages: a little bit of entertaining stuff

Disadvantages: hack writers, bimbo articles, and tv listings are London-biased

I’m stuck with my subscription to this magazine for a while yet. I first ordered it when the mag was in it’s infancy, and I found it quite entertaining. I got it cheaply, and there was an intelligent review of films, and television inside.
As time has gone on it has gotten more and more smutty and boring. Full of makeup “must-haves” and tittle tattle from the life of celebrities.
Over recent weeks it hasn’t been as offensive as it managed to once get, but it was becoming male-centred, with lots of female gussets flying around and articles about the horrific evil of cellulite!
I wrote a letter airing my fears, and they printed it. Or did they?…
They edited it beyond recognition, so that instead of slating their choice of direction and content, it looked as though I was actually approving of, and encouraging them! Hah, no fair! :(
Anyway, this has put me off them altogether, and I suppose it goes without saying that I won’t be renewing my subscription.
Other down points of this magazine is that the TV pages are for England, and all the Scotland, Wales, Ireland and English areas are off to the side in small print. Which makes it awkward to plan your viewing and I have found that these details have had a few errors in them too.
Buy this thing only if you like celeb gossip with a girlie taint, and mixed up television listings.
