Advantages: Great celeb photos, fun interviews, good tv planner
Disadvantages: Not lots of content, relying on the photos to do the talking
Heat magazine has been on our shelves for about 10 years now. I guess you would class it as covering entertainment but it also does features on fashion and beauty.
I have brought it on and off for the past couple of years and have come to enjoy flicking through it in my lunch-break. It is not full of fantastic journalism but it is easy to browse. Each week there is an interview with a celebrity, often seeing them dressing up and taking the mick out of themselves, last weeks for example features Alan Carr dressed as a body-builder pulling an American Truck!! There are regular features in the magazine such as the celebrity week in pictures, the weeks best dressed stars and for all those liking a semi-naked man, there is torso of the week!!!
I like the newly re-vamped fashion pages where they feature celebrities dressed in clothes from regular high street chains, see we can all look like a celebrity.
At the back of the magazine is a guide to the following weeks tv, they also review the lastest DVD releases alongside CD's and books.
Heat launched Heatworld.com in 2007. I have only used it a couple of times, it is not a direct copy of the magazine but covers more 'latest celebrity gossip' Heat also has its own radio station (I have never listened to this as it is only available on freeview)
Heat currently retails at the price of £1.65 and is available to buy weekly (normally hits the shelves on a tuesday)
Summary: Good entertainment magazine.

- 18/06/09 I love Heat magazine. Bit pricey compared to others though. |
