Advantages: A quick (very) easy read
Disadvantages: Too many pictures of Z-listers not enough words
I used to buy Heat Magazine quite regulary but have stopped over the last year or so for the following reasons;
1. There are far too many pictures in this, pages taken up with 'whose flashing their knickers today' and then a full page picture of the so called celeb flashing while getting out of a car (something I'm sure we are all familiar with and is not really 'news worthy' in the world of celebs)
2. You can get the exact same information on their website for free therefore why would I pay for the same information one might ask.
3. It cannot make up it's mind EVER. In one edition there are pictures of skinny celebs on the front with lines of 'Skinny Stars and their weight battles' proclaiming that thin is bad and very unhealthy. In the next issue there's a picture of some poor sod whose put on 6lb and is being made a spectacle of 'So and So battles with depression as weight soars!' Purlease who hasn't put on a few pounds here and there, why should celebrities be any different?
4. It covers far too much Big Brother and Z-list stars for my liking. I don't care what Paris Hilton is doing today, or that Brian from Big Brother was in my local Waitrose yesterday and Jordan has had her boobs enlarged again! I want to hear about the A list, I'm talking Bruce, Brad & TomKat.
5. It takes half an hour to read it from cover to cover which isn't really anywhere near your money's worth when you're talking £1.65 for each issue.
6. Finally any stories they do have are not 'ground breaking' and I have already read most of them either in my local paper or in Grazia. Either that or its usually just speculation blown out of all proportion, oooooh Britney might be engaged to her new boyfriend a 'friend' of the star has told us, here's a little picture of them sitting side by side in a club to back up our failing arugument. Big deal come back to me when you've got some proof!
Summary: Skip to something else
