Disadvantages: Rubbish Content, Expensive, A Bad Example To Younger Girls
For any girl who loves gossip and the world of celebrity, you are likely to have heard of or bought a copy or two of Heat Magazine. I am a typical girl and love to gossip so i used to buy this magazine religiously, never missing an issue.
One thing that annoys me though is that the price has risen dramatically and as i have just purchased my own home, i have unfortunately had to cut down on unnecessary luxuries. A few months ago i was in my local corner shop and the bright colours on the front encouraged me to treat myself and buy a copy. How disappointed i was!
This magazine, like many others seems to revel in pointing out irrelevant things like Jordans B.O stain on her top or Kerry Katonas cellulite, circled for everyone to see. Maybe im just getting older but i just thought "This is crap!" Who cares if someone is sweaty or has cellulite, everyone is human! Its magazines like this that encourage young girls to strive for perfection so much so that some develop life threatening eating disorders.
Turning over, i was hoping for something a little interesting to read. Most of the magazine seemed to be a guide to Big Brother which i havent watched at all this year so was completely pointless to me. Within five minutes, i had flicked through the magazine, disappointed with myself for buying such rubbish.
Overall, i was really disappointed with the content as it was complete unintelligent drivel! I like a good magazine like anyone else but Heat have definitely gone down in my estimation!
