Advantages: Up to date celebrity news
Disadvantages: Articles can sometimes be similar to previous weeks.
I have been reading Heat Magazine for so long now that it has become part of my weekly routine. Every Tuesday I get my copy and once I am home I sit and glance through the magazines to see what I can expect from the articles!
Heat magazine was launched in February 1999 and has gradually become more popular with the public as the years have gone by. The magazine is a mix of celebrity news, gossip and fashion. It is mainly aimed at women but from letters in the magazine, men do find certain articles interesting too!
Heat is definitely a magazine about celebrity gossip so if this isn't an intrest to you then I would not choose it, but if like me you love to find out what is happening with the rich and famous then this is the magazine for you.
The magazine starts off with "everyone's talking about" which is usually about the weeks main celebrity story such as the return of X Factor. The next few pages are based on breaking news which is also about the weeks news in celebville! Sometimes in the first couple of pages there might be an exclusive or a specific article if there has a been a big story within the week. This can be X Factor/Big Brother winners or coverage on a celeb's life.
Among all the celebrity news there is a letters and emails page, horoscopes and a crossword puzzle competition. There is also fashion pages where you can find the lastest trends as well hair and make-up ideas. Towards the back of the magazine there is reviews on the latest movies, books and music albums. Then finally there is television listings for the week ahead.
As of 2004 Heat has become one of the biggest selling magazines in the UK, with a regular circulation over half a million. With this Heat has branched out into Heat radio and HeatWorld the website based around the magazine.
Heat conveys what is going on in the celebrity world with a sense of humour and when necessary a sympathetic manner. The Heat Team put what seems to be their own personalities in to the articles they write giving readers a realistic view of the people they interview or meet.
I find Heat Magazine a great way to relax as it provides me with all the celeb goosip to take me away from the stresses of my working week!
Summary: A magazine for those who like celeb gossip!
