Advantages: Lots of celebrity news

Disadvantages: Not worth £1.65, not enough to read and no real life stories

Heat magazine is a magazine I have only started reading this summer. I normally buy Closer and sometimes OK. However on severel occassions throughout the summer they had a special offer on where you could buy Heat and Closer for just £1.99. So seen as I pay £1.30 for Closer I thought for another 69p I may as well get another magazine. Heat costs £1.65 when purchased on its own.

Heat is similar to all other celebrity glossy magazines and is filled with pictures, pictures and more pictures. Don't get me wrong I like to see pictures of celebrities but this magazine is full of them, I like to have something to read as well.

In this magazine you will find celebrity body shapes, celebrity fashion, celebrity gossip and a couple of celebrity interviews. So if you have no interest in celebrities then do not buy it.

Heat is a weekly magazine and comes out every tuesday, you can subscribe to the magazine and pay just £33.80 for every six months, this saves you 20% a year. Personally I wouldn't bother. I don't mind paying the extra 69p when it comes in a bundle with Closer but I would not pay £1.65.

There are regular sections to the mag such as letters, spotted and man watch. You also get a poster of 'torso of the week' but I think this is very teenage magazine. There also seems to be lots of advertisements taking up the pages of the Heat.

The magazine is essentially split up into three parts, the first part of the magazine is 'celebs', the second part is 'starstyle' and the third is TV&Reviews.

It is always good to have a TV guide in the back of a magazine. This section reviews movies, music and books. I think the magazine is that rubbish that the best part is probably the TV and Reviews, it has fewer pictures and something you can actually read.

If I'm buying a magazine I prefer to have a mixture of real life stories and celebrity news, this unfortunately does not have that mix. It is pure a celeb mag, so if you're a real celebrity junkie then maybe you'll love it. However, it is not just the fact it is a celeb mag that I don't like it, the main problem I have is that it is full of pictures, I bet it wouldn't take long to read it from cover to cover. Not the magazine for me.

Summary: I'll stick to Closer and OK.
