Hello magazine is a weekly mag that focuses on celebrity news and gossip. It's a mag my mum often buys, and when I am at her house and there's nothing else around I will pick it up.

The magazine is very visual, and focuses mostly on pictures rather than text. It's big and glossy, and is just like a photo album. Even the regular sections are all photo based.

One of the best bits is the 'diary of the week' which is a photo based section that shows coverage of celebrity events and 'high society'. Now, for me, this is quite interesting. I like to see what world famous stars are upto. Mags like Heat are dull to me because they're so UK based, but show me what Beyonce is upto and I'm there! This may make me seem really shallow but that doesn't bother me.

'Panorama' extends this concept even further and gives coverage to world events through pics. This is a bit more shallow than I would like, with just a few words explaining what's happening.

Anyway, I suppose there is a place for a mag like this, which is times when you can't be reading. Most people tend to find this mag in the dentist, doctors etc, and that's a good place for it. It's also good for when you are in a distracted situation like a busy room or canteen at lunch.

The mag is mainly for women, with its obsession with celebs and gossip, but there's stuff for men in there too. For a start, a lot of men will enjoy looking at pics of women!

All in all, this is a fine mag to flick through, but I find I finish it really quickly and there's very little to do. When you look at a picture, what happens? I look, then I move on. I suppose some fashion conscious people may stare at every bit of the person's clothing, but I just have a cursory glance and it's done very quickly. If you're like me in that then I don't recommend you buy it because you will finish it dead quick!
