Advantages: Some very good articles
Disadvantages: Bad advertising, aimed at intermediates?
Horoscope describes itself as "The World's Premier Astrological Magazine". I wouldn't go as far as that. It has quite a professional glossy look although the artwork doesn't appeal personally to me. Each issue is broken into several sections:- A breakdown of the month ahead using Chinese Astrology The Western zodiac monthly highlights A day by day zodiac section A focus on the months sign Regular columns on tarot, dreams and palmistry can also be found as well as other articles on a range of occult interest. Personally I feel that they could do with merging the day by day and monthly highlights section - leaving more room for other articles. Points for Horoscope for including a regular section on Horary astrology which is a branch all to itself and often forgotten. Rather like the comments I made for Prediction magazine, Horoscope also contains far too many adverts for phone lines. This is a shame because the astrological articles - especially by regulars like Helen Adams and "Nigel" are extremely well written and informative and the ads detract from this. The main problem with the magazine as a whole is that I can never work out whom they are aiming at. The ads and look suggest the wider public but those with little knowledge of astrology would find themselves struggling with some articles. That said - if you are learning astrology this could be a very useful magazine. I used to buy it regularly, but the more experienced I became, the less inclined I was to buy it. However - I still flick through the pages in the Newsagents now and again and buy the odd copy - mostly for aforementioned Helen Adams clear, enlightening writing. Horoscope magazine can be bought monthly at most Newsagents. The website is www.horoscope.co.uk
