Advantages: Great freebies

Disadvantages: Can't afford most of the things in it!!

I seem to have my magazine review head on today!

I will have to say this is again another magazine that I would not usually buy, but when I got an email from martinlewismoneyexpert.com about the freebie with this one I had to go and buy it!.

With the September issue (£3.50) you get 2 Bodyshop Eye Definers ( I take it that means eyeliner ). You have a choice of 3 colours sets : Black and Silver, Black and Brilliant Blue or Black and Vibrant Emerald. I wanted the Vibrant Emerald, but they didn't have it so I went for the Brilliant Blue option. They say that these pencils rrp is £7.50 each, so quite a good bargain at £1.75 each.

Back to the mag I knew I wouldn't like it before I had taken off the plastic
wrapping as the top headline says EXCLUSIVE Chanel Reader event. On
opening and turning to this particular item I find that it is not that bad after
all. It's an A-list makeover with Chanel make-up by a celecbrity make-up artist. It is at Selfridges on the 29th September for one day. Great I thought
I could do with some of that, then I read at the bottom of the page you
have to phone and book an appointment as they are limited ( well that one won't be a freebie!) what was I thinking!

The advertisments where for clothes by : Moschino, Roberto Cavalli, Vivienne Westwood, ect,,, there were other names but I've never heard of them before, so I don't know if they are posh or not!!!
On flicking further into the mag I was shocked to see adverts for Barry M, Rimmel, and even Andrex toilet roll ( mind you it was the new posh shea butter !)

Apart from the contents page it was 16 pages more (all Adverts ) before I reached the editors letter then another 11 pages before you hit the Style
Candy feature this is 11 pages of new items like a nice leather bag by Moschino for £1,415 ( must put that on my Xmas list!) or a pair of pumps for £275 by Christian Dior, then you get a full page about the " Ultimate Winter Coat" which is truly a classic as they say and you can have a" lifetime of effortless super-style " I would think so at £1,375 !

The shoes they show do vary from New Look £30 to £587 by Salvatore Ferragamo. There are pages on Fashion Shows which features pictures from the parties. The pages about the latest trend isn't to bad, it has Eighties Glamour, Fabulous Forties, Grunge Punk, Luxe Leather, Fierce Chic ect...
You can look at these and copy the outfits but in a lot less expensive clothes and shoes!

I love bags and these ones were just lovely, but it is right out of my league,
I could never afford to buy any of these ( apart from the one from Next for £20 !). They was an assortment of prices many in the three figure range, with a few being in the thousands! but they were great bags I'll have to look in Primark for a copy!!

Diane Kruger is the celebrity in the September issue talking about all sorts of
issues including eating habits, her friends, her childhood and working with
Quentin Tarantino.

Again the dresses are great and there are pages of clothes to flick through
with very hefty price tags. There is a good feature on London Fashion Week,
with information about the models, shoe guru's and the designers.

Towards the back you come across pages of beauty items and the editors pick, then there are the travel pages with reviews on different countries which is good for a read, then on the back page you have "What's in your handbag" this month it is a model ( not in the handbag!)

I know I haven't really given this mag a particular good review, but I did say
at the beginning that I did only buy it for the freebie on the front. I don't enjoy reading mags that seem to be on another planet when it comes to the endless pot of money needed to buy any of the things in it !!!!

Summary: Buy for the free gift as that makes it worth it
