InStyle magazine is a monthly women's magazine featuring articles mainly about fashion and beauty, but also contains articles around celebrities and lifestyle.
In the United States Time Inc. are the publishers. In the UK it's published by IPC Media, who also publish many more magazines such as Living Etc, Ideal Home, Wedding Magazine and Homes and Gardens.
First launched in 1994, InStyle has a circulation of approximately 1.7 million. The magazine also has a website www.InStyle.com, which gives up-to-date fashion, style and celebrity trends similar to the magazine.
This is a magazine for the serious fashion shopper. There are pages and pages of fashion:- celebrity fashion, designer fashion, high street fashion...
I am always amazed at some the fashion offered. It is certainly current and on trend, but who are they aiming at? Surely the average reader cannot afford the £410 velvet dress, along with £315 Swarovski-crystal earrings and £495 wood and silver bangle? Or how about the £2,200 feather and metal chain jacket, £1,100 lurex shirt and £330 wool trousers.
At £3.50 per issue, there are adverts are on practically every other page, and you wonder how much magazine would be left if you threw a strop ripped them all out.
It's good for a flick through in WH Smith or your local supermarket, but save your money unless you have a large trust fund from daddy.
Summary: £3.50 for pages and pages of adverts?
