Advantages: Easy to understand internet information for the beginner.
Disadvantages: The photos are just too tacky to bear!
Being a "newbie" is a dunting task... what do all these buttons do? And these menus? Oh my God! What've I done? And WHY WON'T IT WORK?!!! Thankfully, Internet made easy is here to guide us through, explaining the basics in a simple and informative way (hey, even my mum understood it!) With step-by-step tutorials through programmes and basic computer fiddling! With pages and pages of Web listings, the good the bad and the "oooh, that's clever!" sites along with tips on navigation and how to stop yourself drowning in technobabble! It's great! And yet, I can't bring myself to give it five stars. Why...? The models featured on every page! For once this isn't because I'm jealous, but because they are just dressed page three girls! The stiff poses, the over made-up faces, the pretend demonstrations (when you see it it'll make sense!)... they ruin a great magazine, making it look tacky and extremely unprofessional, like something someone threw together on their Mac with their computer knowledge and a few back issues of The Sun!! Computers Made Easy is a great magazine for beginners of all ages, and a bargain at £2.50, but if the production staff would spend a little more on photographs it would be improved no end.

- 10/11/00 LOL! I totally agree. Why do they always feature some grinning bimbo on the front cover? That really gives the magazine a serious, technical image! |
