Advantages: Great reviews

Disadvantages: Slightly uninteresting from week to week

Kerrang provides what Punk/Metal/Hardcore music lovers want, as well as a slight indie side to boot.
The magazine usually includes great reviews and interesting articles, all written with a passion for music that compliments the writer's style.
The gig reviews are usually the best part of the magazine to read as you can relate to what you saw at the gig and how the writer felt as well, and if you are really lucky you might see yourself as part of the crowd in the excellent photos.
Kerrang breaks the boundaries of music magazines as it caters for the alternative genre, the genre that barely gets mentioned in other mags.

My only reservation about Kerrang is that it may be aimed at a relatively younger age group. They seem to concentrate on bands like Slipknot, who may have a following at older ages but are more concentrated around 12-15 year olds

Altogether Kerrang is a breath of fresh air but one that needs airing a little.
