Advantages: Loads of information, great pictures, good features
Disadvantages: a weekly publication can make it expensive over time
This music magazine is aimed at the rock fans of the world from Limp Bizkit to Cradle of Filth. It’s a weekly issued magazine which come out every Wednesday at a price of £1.70. There are four main sections to this magazine, news, features, reviews and regulars. The news section talks about the latest happenings from the past week, including announcements of gigs, singles or album releases. The main part of the magazine is the features with many interviews from bands and artists. There is a feature called, 24 hours with... which is a one page interview which documents what happens in a typical day of a person. There is a large selection of reviews from gigs and festivals as well as singles, albums, films and computer games. There is also chart lists of the single and albums and a top 20 on music videos. The regulars in the magazine are pull-out posters of bands, vouchers for money off selected albums and several competitions. At the back of the magazine there are loads of advertisements for festivals and live events like Ozzfest, Deconstruction tour and listings of bands UK tours dates. There are also advertisements from companies who sell photos, posters, videos, T-shirts and rare music material. The downfall of this magazine is that it is weekly and I am always tempted to by each issue, but as I’m a poor penniless student I have to force myself to not buy each issue as over time this magazine can eat a hole in your pocket. Overall a very entertaining magazine with loads of interesting features, this a definite of your a rock fan.
