Advantages: Amazing Music , Amazing Writers
Disadvantages: Nothing good at the moment
Ok this is basically my bible but lately I have been betraying my religion for I have not been buying this magazine. I was once a die-hard follower of the Kerrang! movement but lately they have had no free posters, CDs, or anything remotely free. This isn’t the only problem they have become far to pretentious by permanently saying one band is amazing and that they are the best band they have ever heard yet I go out and get there CD only to find that it is a waste of money. What is happening Kerrang!?? Have you devoted all your attention to the medium of TV?? Do your devoted magazine consumers not deserve the enthusiasm that you are showing to your Box like alternative music channel??? I used to love sitting down with a cup of tea or a nice beer and ploughing through page six, chapter nine, verse 4 from Paul Rees's wonderful magazine. Now it seems nothing more than a chore. Yeh, face in the crowd still brings a smile to my face but do I really care if Linkin Park is influencing children to hurt each other (for more Linkin Park slating view my review on Hybrid Theory). Yeh, I still buy it out of hope more than anything. However, I feel like a conversion could take place if Kerrang! don't start adding a few more bands that actually have some relevance on the rest of the rock world. I do pity Kerrang! for there are not many good albums out at the moment so there are fewer good gigs to review. I can give many suggestions as to how to overcome this dilemma. One being please people with snippets from new albums or free posters of big bands. They could tell us about up and coming albums or even reduce the Kerrang!! release to every fortnight thus giving more time for interesting reviews to be created or to help build a little suspense for those who read your metal loaded magazine. I look forwards to reviews on the new Korn album and the new Slipknot album. This could give the Kerrang! gurus some information to gorg
e on. Please Kerrang! don’t make me leave you, it's been so long, but I am loosing the faith. Ah well I will buy it next Wednesday and see if you have telepathically heard my prayers. Thanx for everything so far Kerrang! Please regroup and come back to kick the other alternative music magazines asses.
