Advantages: Cheap!, great depth and detail

Disadvantages: none

I have decided to write an opinion on Kerrang!, the weekly magazine that deals with the alternative music genre's. The magazine does interviews with anyone from Marilyn Manson to Metallica. Blink 182 to Bloodhound gang, and many more between.
Most weeks (although not on last weeks -the one with system of a down on the front.) there is a selection of posters to hang on your wall, from some of the mags best photographers.

In the new style Kerrang! there is a couple of new bits that weren't in there before. for instance, there is the 'Scumscene'. this is a page dedicated to the small unsigned british bands, that are oh so great. Another is '24 hours with....'. This was formerly an intervew with the famous persons of any particular alternative band. There is the usual, top 40 albums (some of which have been in the chart for months...and longer!) and a singles chart. Also is the 'Kerrang! turntables' (i think that is the name!) which tells hich songs and bands have been playing in the Kerrang! office all the time.
Something that has been taken out of this section however is the 'Readers Top Ten' and the 'top 20 Indie Releases. (cd's released on small labels) The 'Readers top ten' has been replaced by a little box which shows what 2-3 readers have been listening to most. Each one includes a photot, and is usually no longer than 25-30 words. The other new bit put in here is the 'It changed my life'. This is a little box dedicated to telling people what album has changed an artists life.

On top of that there is the reviews section, which gives reviews of albums, singles and live shows in quite a bit of detail, the letters section, where the readers write in to tell the world what they are thinking and the start pages which give small bits of info, the music world needs to hear.

One of the only bad things about this is the fact, that most of the interviews are with metal b
ands. Saying that they have turned a bit more to the hardcore/punk genre.

There tell me what you think of my rants!

I use to buy Kerrang all the time, But i think it has lost its touch. I find it really boring now, every week it has the same thing in. Or the posters will be of the same artist for weeks before it changes.

good op though
