Advantages: A CELEBRATION OF LIFE WITH A HEART FELT MESSAGE.
Disadvantages: Too many women are unaware of simple checks they can do.
EVERYONE SHOULD BE AWARE OF CANCER AND HOW TO DETECT SIGNS EARLY ENOUGH FOR TREATMENT. Every year, more than 13,000 British women die from breast cancer-a disease which, if diagnosed early enough, need not be fatal. The solution to this unsatisfactory state of affairs is to increase awareness of breast cancer amongst women and their partners. For this reason October is BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH. But did you know that by treating yourself to a glossy lifestyle magazine you can also contribute towards this cause? PINK RIBBON MAGAZINE costs £2.95 and for every issue sold, £1 will be donated to breast cancer charities. The magazine was published last year but this years issue is bigger, glossier and better designed. There are a host of celebrities backing the campaign and some have contributed to the magazine - including Ronan Keating, Jerry Hall, Joan Collins, Tracy Emin, Judi Dench, Mariella Frostrup, and there are also contributions from big name models and photographers. Pink ribbon is not just a glossy magazine, there is the more serious stuff: a guide to checking your breasts, the latest treatments, updates on reasearch, fashion and therapies, and stories from women who have not only survived cancer but have led fulfilled lives. If you are worried the magazine is full of gruesome medical details and stories of death, dont be it is a fun read with a very simple message, Be breast aware. A MAGAZINE THAT COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE? SOUNDS WORTH BUYING..SO DOOO IT.

Lorraine28 - 26/04/01 Too many of us are guilty of thinking "it happens to others not the me". It does happen to others but it also could happen to "me". We need to wake up and be much more aware of this horrible disease! |
