Advantages: good value for money, interesting features, value fashion

Disadvantages: possibly too many adverts

It is my dream to be a features writer for Cosmo. I only recently started buying it every month, as it is quite expensive(£2.70) when compared to other magazines. But it is has many more pages and covers far more interesting subjects. For example, the Noverber issue launches a domestic violence campaign fronted by Martine McCutcheon. To me, this is a worthwhile thing for a magazine to be doing and shows many of the other womens magazines up! They also have interesting invesigative journalism, a few issues ago they did a peice on bogus abortion clinics which are run by pro-lifers. It was moving and actually affecting young women today.
Cosmo does have a large fashion section, which personally I don't have a lot of interest in, but it's not all designer clothes so the average reader would actually be able to afford a lot of the clothes featured.
Cosmo also has a comprehensive section on sex, which is informative and useful for young women.
I think this magazine is definitely the best one around for young women.
