Advantages: light reading at a reasonable price

Disadvantages: light reading

This is another magazine that my daughters sometimes buy & another for me to read whilst having a hot soak in the bath!

I've read quite a few editions but the one I'm looking at at the moment is dated 7-13 October so probably a lot of the celeb news is already out of date?

There 66 pages in this edition & it cost 68p.

The cover is loaded with bright headlines to tempt you into buying a copy - eg 'Jennifer Ellison - being in love is making me fat' & a 'real life' story entitled 'forced to eat dog food by evil hubby' & ''attacked for my court shoes' etc..

There are some quite thought-provoking articles on addiction to over- the -counter painkillers & the experience of an anorexic girl of 15 & a woamn who was told to have an abortion to save her life.

However, it does contain some trashy stuff - 'dirrrty sexy money - we're rolling in it' (women having sex to survive the credit crunch) etc.

A page is devoted to up-to-date fashion & where to buy.
There's an interesting part which covers latest cosmetics & readers' opinions, 'speedy reads' & a good spread on colurful kitchen goodies.

Carly's top tips is quite good - readers send in their top tips & Carly tries them out. This issue suggests we pop money as a gift into a balloon & then inflate it to give as a present instead of an envelope, using an old hanging basket in the bathroom to put shampoos & toiletries in & making a photo frame out of an old chocolate box......... may sound silly but they pay up to £60 for a tip!

There's the inevitable health page with Dr Jon who answers readers' queries, Trish Goddard's problem page (get well soon Trish!) & 'sex confidential' & psychic agony aunt one as well.

Also included in this copy are 2 double-page puzzle/ crossword/wordsearch pages which may help pass the time on a long journey.

Several healthy recipes are well laid out - I may even try a few of these - salmon & pesto pasta salad looks rather nice...

Of course there is also the horoscope page - does everyone else read these?

There are not too many adverts in Love It - there's nothing more irritating than turning page after page of the stuff is there?

summary
~
- generally light-reading with a few thought-provoking articles.

Summary: worth having a look - you might Love It when you see what's on the cover?
