Marie Claire Magazine started out in France in 1937 as a weekly edition. Over the years it has expanded, and is now published worldwide to countries including the UK, USA, Australia, Brazil, Czech Republic, Greece, Russia, Saudi Arabia and many others.

The magazine's subject matter centres around health, beauty and fashion, and each country's edition had subject matter specific to it. The magazine also deals with relationships and current world issues. Each monthly issue features a celebrity on the cover who gives an interview inside the magazine along with additional photoshoot.

Running in Heels, the reality TV show follows three interns working in the New York City office of the magazine.
