Advantages: the political articles are interesting enough

Disadvantages: adverts, adverts, adverts, adverts etc....

Visiting a hospital without taking anything to read is a really stupid idea. I found that out to my own costs when I realised that I was thumbing through ‘Monthly Trout Fishing! So as I had to visit again shortly after, I managed to wangle a copy of “Marie Claire” from a friend. I tried to read it for the very first time, unfortunately, I discovered that it was pretty much like all of the other women's magazines out there. It was filled with the typical fare – derogatory and relatively boring articles on fitness and how to keep your man. And of course, it wouldn’t be a ‘Vogue’ wannabe if you didn’t have the obligatory sex articles.

There were a few interesting political articles though, so I did have something to read, and these were actually well written. It was also quite informative on beauty and gave me a few options for styles of clothes that I could actually wear and afford! Something I didn’t think could happen in a ‘woman’s’ magazine for the ‘today’s’ woman! I’ll give it another thumbs down though, the amount of ads contained in this magazine was absolutely abysmal, literally every other page, it gets irritating and old really quick - If my friend offers me another copy, I'll pass.

But then again, if it’s between “Salmon Catchers Weekly” and this, I’ll still pick it up. A middle of the road woman’s magazine, at least “Vogue” gives away free foundation (even if it’s only enough to cover half your face!)
