Advantages: Fashion, Great articles, Occasional freebies
Disadvantages: none
INTRODUCTION: Marie Claire, the old favourite, is still producing informative, interesting articles from areas some Britains havent even heard of. Shunned by the bimbos for having too many long words, the intelligent 2000's woman still loves Marie Claire. Gorgeous fashion, sickeningly gorgeous celebrities and the usual gossip teamed with something to actually expand your mind. And of course, you can choose a section of the magazine to suit your mood. Feeling shallow, you can flick through and look at clothes. Feeling deep, pick the news articles, and fancy an insight into the world of the celebs you can catch up on the gossip. FREEBIE: This month's issue has a free purse. It's black, long (in fact a bit too long for a tiny handbag but just fits in my regular one) and rectangular. It has marie claire written inside so people don't immediately see that it's a freebie. It had a zip compartment in the centre and 2 sides for notes. I didnt have that much money so I popped a tampon in one side. Sorry, but I needed it and it was very discreet in the pub. WHAT'S IN IT: Lots of adverts - these can be quite annoying but useful if you've got money to burn! * HOROSCOPE * LETTERS PAGE - where the readers get their say either by e-mail or letter. * FEATURES - this is the informative section of the magazine. This issue includes: - Reportage: Caroline Casey's 1,000km journey across India - An interview with Angelina Jolie - Real lives: an article about flatmates - UK report: an article on female wrestling - Film Report: photos from behind the scenes of the film Another Life - An interview with Jordan - her with the huge fake breasts * VOYEUR - what is hot & what is not! Includes: - An introduction to Wei Hui - China's first banned "pornographic" (they've got some s
exual content!) female novelist. - Man of the month & The date. An interesting insight into the world of dating! A man provides a profile of himself, women write in to date him, and he picks his favourite. They then go on a romantic date just them & Marie Claire! * FASHION - this is my least favourite part. However this month's does contain a few cute bikinis/swimsuits. All the latest trends are represented in this section usually. * BEAUTY - I want the sunglasses from this section, but not the plastic surgery! * HEALTH - This is the section that tries to convince you you're fat! This month they measured seats at cinemas, trains, plains and even toilet seats and tell us all our bums are too big for them! Now I'm far from skinny but I've never had this problem personally. * IDEAS - the house section. This month includes the usual cute interiors and food tips. Here they focus on curry * TRAVEL - self explanatory. This issue features Jamaica & the Himalayas. * SPECIAL OFFERS - giveaways which you can phone up to win & a lucky numbers section (if the number on your magazine matches then you've won! woohoo!) * CLASSIFIED - lots and lots of adverts from cosmetic surgery to clairvoyants. Like any magazine, there's something that isn't your thing. But I really do enjoy my monthly Marie Claire.
