Knowing I had a boring night in alone, I picked up Marie Claire for 2 reasons. 1 was that I had read a really good review, and 2 it had a freebie!!! And a very useful one at that!

I found it a really interesting read. The July issue had Latin Fever with Ricky Martin and the next big supermodel. Reading the article made me think twice about pop's latest pretty boy. He comes across as actually having a brain!! Shock!!! Horror!!!

When you think of Rio, you think of scorching hot days, the sexy samba (or something) and miles of beaches. Marie Claire showed the darker side of Rio. The street children, the prostitution. It was quite an eye opener!

The token pop princess was in there. Christine Aguilera. Sorry, but I still think she is a very over-rated air-head. And she sounds selfish to boot!

Also, they interviewed mixed-race couples, who, for the main, didn't get that much hassle. A sign of the times? Let's hope so.

And finally, hehehehe, something I can use here! A guide to beauty websites! So I'm going to tootle off and do a little research into these! Of course I'll let you guys know what I find....and where!
