Advantages: lots of good articles

Disadvantages: one or two irredeemably stupid articles

I only buy Marie Claire when I've read the other intelligent womens magazines (like Cosmopolitan, Red, She) and I'm bored but I'm often impressed by the standard of journalism. However this month there didn't seem to be much worth reading and the fashion section, which is too expensive for me anyway, wasn't particularly attractive.

Jane Bussman's article about Formula One was pathetic - if someone wants to pander to every stereotype imaginable that's fine but why does it have to be published in a magazine supposedly aimed at intelligent women? Oh well, perhaps it was supposed to be funny.

I usually enjoy the health and beauty section however and this month was no different, with articles on over-exercising and a new range of Ayurvedic beauty treatments.
