Advantages: Occasional good article

Disadvantages: Not often enough articles of sufficient quality

Maxim is easily the best of the mens magazines out at the moment and has been for quite a while. Unfortunately it suffers from the same problems as its competitors, the narrow-minded style of editing. Mens magazines it seems, all have the same idea about how to sell more copies - more flesh. If I wanted to see a lot of scantily clad ladies I would buy Playboy or a similar magazine, one which doesn't leave anything out. The reason I used to read Maxim was for the interesting and enjoyable articles and for the how-to and review sections. Even these have deteriorated recently though and I am unmotivated to renew my subscription.
