Advantages: Well designed, glossy, some really interesting articles and tips

Disadvantages: Many articles seem aimed at unreal stereotypes or people with more money than sense,

Mens health magazine is an international franchise there is one in the UK and one in the US, i'm pretty sure there are other European and Worldwide versions, and that they share content.

What does it cost?

It costs £3.95 or you can subscribe annually, they have offers for you to try of 3 issues for £1 but a full annual subscription costs £29.70 and you get a free bottle of Gant Silver Fragrance as a joining gift.

So Whats it all about?

Men's Health does exactly what it says on the tin, its dedicated to men's health and wellbeing in any given issue there will be segments on how you should look, what exercises work which parts of your body, types of food that help your body develop, how other people have lost weight, gained muscle, things you should own, how you should please a woman etc, etc.

This magazine seems to have taken some segments of the lads mags, ensuring there are some pictures of exotic women you could never meet, to motivate you, it also has a lot of things pilfered from ladies magazines such as pictures of toned men to make you feel worse about yourself or motivated to buy the advertised products and change and articles about sometimes silly things about how to cheat on your partner.

The magazine is glossy, there are loads of adverts for expensive brands, it really does aim itself at well to do young men who are dedicated to themselves. Unfortunately most men aren't well to do and most are dedicated to their partner or family. There are some great tips and hints, on how to improve your physique, diet, mental health but these are undone for me by the articles which are designed to make you envious or self-conscious, I know if I did everything in the magazine I could change my body slightly but I also know that putting that much time into myself would affect my family life so I read it purely as something to read and pick up the odd tip not as a lifestyle choice.

Summary: Be yourself and be happy, then read something like this
