Much like Kerrang magazine, Metal Hammer began its life as an endearing and reliable rock/metal music magazine, albeit one that was monthly rather than fortnightly as is the case with Kerrang, but as with Kerrang it underwent a dramatic format change in the late 90s whereby it largely abandoned its older audience in favour of a newer, younger ... I bought my first copy of Metal Hammer several years ago now, I had become rather disillusioned with Kerrang as it covered very little of the sort of music I actually liked and at the time magazines like Terrorizer were still a fair bit more extreme than my taste in metal. Wandering in to Virgin one day (as it still was at the time), Metal Hammer ... Read the complete review

Metal Hammer is a magazine about Rock/Metal music. The first issue was for sale in 1986. I would say that it is aimed at older teenagers and adults because of the language used in it. It is available monthly and costs £3.99. Some months they add an extra item with the magazine and charge an extra pound or you can buy it at the normal ... Read the complete review

Metal Hammer is a rock metal magazine which doesn't only concentrate on music but the lifestyle surrounding it too. Typically the magazine includes features on top bands such as Tool,Korn and Slipknot and shorter features on newer bands.Recently the magazine has also had a series of "Through The Keyhole" articles, where ... I read Metal Hammer on a regular basis and find it to be a more refined version of KERRANG! With less focus on commercial metal and a fondness for my favourite genres of metal, you really ought to move to reading this than Kerrang, as it is so much more grown up. It actively supports UK metal, something which more mainstream metal mags tend not to ... Read the complete review

Well, if you are then you can't go far wrong with Metal Hammer, a monthly mag from Future Publishing. The magazine covers all alternative genres from rock to metal, from punk to industrial. Unlike Kerrang! it is focused on the music rather than the fashion side of rock, and is much more mature than the weekly mag. Don't let this put you ... Read the complete review

It’s true! On the whole, Metal Hammer actually does cover a lot more metal than Kerrang! ever has and ever will! It’s disadvantage is being a monthly mag, which means usually the news section will be full of articles you read in Kerrang three weeks ago and the gig reviews can be up to two months after the gigs! That aside, the ... Read the complete review

"Metal Hammer" is the monthly source of reference for fans of a wide range of music, ranging from punk and old rock to death metal and black metal. Although it is obviously less up to date than the weekly "Kerrang!" magazine, its interviews and features are always more detailed and better presented, giving it the ... Read the complete review

metal hammer magazine is produced by future publishing.priced at £3.10 it is fairly pricy because although it used to include a cd with every issue it seems to have discontinued that service, instead providing free stickers!i subscribed to the magazine in november last year and feel that in recent months its standards are falling.the most recent ... Metal Hammer is one of my favourite music magazines at the moment. I dont buy it that often as I my bank balance is virtually non existant, but those issues that I have bought were definitely worth the £3.10. Although it only concentrates on rock music, there is quite a range of musical tastes catered for within the genre. For ... Read the complete review

Metal Hammer is a monthly magazine, claiming to cover heavy music. Actually I'd suggest if you like the really heavy black metal, thrash etc you try Terrorizer. Metal Hammer is heavy, yes, but those of narrow mindsets may be put off by 'pop-metal' such as Linkin Park or Papa Roach (no doubt on the cover to increase readership now ... Read the complete review

Metalhammer is a monthly release magazine for all metalheads. It usually comes out near the end of the month at priced £3.10. Definitely worth the cost with a free CD with each issue. It is my opinion that the Metal Hammer, has sadly sold out to sixteen year olds who want to read about nu-metal acts, i.e. Papa Roach and Marilyn Manson, etc. It may be good for sales figures, but unfortunately it lets the more genuine rock fans like myself down. Being a fan of the magazine over the years I find less and less common ground as ... Read the complete review

Metal Hammer what can I say I've seen better. But even if I have seen better the magazine is pretty good. The price is really good and it brings a complementary CD in every issue. The CD that the magazine provides could be better but it has good variety of songs and groups, but again I have seen better complementary CD’s. ... Read the complete review

The only reason I buy Metal Hammer each month is the CD's. I'm not saying the mag is a bad, I like it, but I buy Kerrang every week. The news in MH is usually weeks out of date for me. Metal Hammer is a monthly magazine dedicated to the wonderful world of heavy music. This includes heavy metal, punk rock and generally the so called alternative scene.
