The metro newspaper is the most simplest and user friendly paper in my opinion. It is small enough to fit in your bag and carry around with ease, unlike the huge daily telegraphy papers which are A3/A2 sizes and fall apart like an earthquake is happening! The metro most importantly is free, and even if you are not a tube traveller, a lot of stations stack the metro newspapers before entering the barriers, so any member of the public can pick one up and read it. The fact that major companies such as Coca Cola, Pepsi, Addidas, McDonalds etc, all advertise in the Metro is a testament to how successful the newspaper is at reaching a wide audience.

Readers need do nothing except pick up a free paper, unlike the times newspaper or others where you must go to a newsagent and purchase one, which is far too much effort and trouble to go to in the morning when in your in a rush to get to work! Furthermore the articles in the metro are kept short and simple and to the point and don't waffle or give irrelevant information! You can know the whole world news in matter of minutes reading the metro, and flick through the pages with ease. Their was recently an advert in the metro for the upcoming friendly football match between Brazil and Italy in February at the Emirates Stadium. You would have to go to great trouble to find that in a mainstream newspaper.

Summary: Metro paper - interesting to read on a long frustrating tube journey!
