The Metro Newspaper is a free tabloid paper available in the UK from Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays. The Metro launched in London in 1999 and now is published in 14 cities in the UK including Manchester and Birmingham. The Metro can be picked up at most tube and rail stations each morning, but you usually have to be quick as some smaller stations run out before 9am. I like the Metro as it has a lot different news stories from politics to showbiz and sometimes it has some weird and wonderful news stories. This paper serves well as an informative and entertaining read and I prefer it to the other papers as I can pick it up at the station and its totally free! Although now the other papers do try and compete by lowering their weekday prices. If you want a good read on the way to work then pick up a metro.
