Advantages: free, world and local news,quirky stories

Disadvantages: only available if travelling on trains or buses (& only first thing in the morning)

There are three things that I love about the 'Metro' newspaper. They are
1. It is FREE
2. It keeps me up to date with what's happening in the world
3. It keeps me entertained on the boring journey to work each morning

So , that's it in a nutshell really.

Okay then,

I'll tell you why I look for this paper every morning and am a grumpypants if I don't get one...

What is it called ?
METRO

Where can I find it ?
At train stations and on buses

How much does it cost ?
Nothing, it is free, a freebie, nil point, no new pennies required.

What is it ?
It is a daily newspaper (Monday - Friday).

Oh, a freebie, so it'll be old news stories then ?
How wrong you are.
This is a very modern paper and it had all the latest stories, from world news, entertainment, celebrities, sport...

Any extra's ?
Yes, quirky stories that other papers miss, readers letters, readers texts, cartoon strips (Nemi and This Life), puzzles and quizes, tv schedules, weather, adverts, theatre news, interviews, and snipits of wierd and wonderful facts (no s**t Sherlock).

So why do I like it so much ?
I can usually get a copy every day as I catch quite an early bus on my way to work. I don't have to stop at the newsagents to get a copy, so that's very convenient. It is free (I like anything that's free).
It is a great newspaper as it really does contain everything I want in a newspaper (see above), yet it is not heavy reading. There is a great mix of 'straight news' and light hearted quirky stuff too.
To be honest if it were on sale alongside the other newspapers, this is the one I would buy.

So should I look out for it then ?
Yes, whenever you are travelling by train or bus. Even if you have already bought a paper give it a go.
It brightens up my day - I have been known to search the seats on the bus if there are none in the Metro box (by the luggage space at the front of the bus). I also watch people getting off the bus if they have a copy to see if they leave it, then I rush to get it.
I have been known to growl at the person ahead of me who takes to last copy.

Seriously, a great read and I give it 10 out of 10
