The main thing in this magazine is that if you’re a home PC builder like me and want to save money, you should buy this magazine. The micro mark has every little bit of information that you need. On a weekly basis the magazine comes out and at a cost of travel fair you can found out what happening in the I.T world. This magazine contains a lot of information like what the latest graphic card and offers a review as well (recommend or not). Not only on graphic card but also on other new product example PDA, Monitor, Memory, latest processors and all types of inputs. They’re also a section for game review, which give you a great idea ... Forgive me if this is a rather short review, but this magazine is pretty one-dimensional, so there's not really that much to say on the subject. Microcomputer Mart is one of two(that I know of) widely available magzines whose sole aim is to bring you, the consumer, computer goods at bargain prices. There are basically two ways that it does this. Firstly, there are a number of companies who advertise in here, promising to bring you top quality components, peripherals and complete systems at trade prices and secondly through private advertisements of second-hand goods. ~Advertisers~ The majority of this magazine is made up of advertisers ... I started buying Micro Mart last year, not because of wanting to buy computer parts, but for news and reviews. I wasn't too impressed - the only regular reviews are of shareware and games, and the news section is sometimes a bit slow to catch onto a story. It was also a bit pricey just for this : £0.80 (at the time) per week worked out at £3.60 a week, and for £2.95 I could get tonnes more news and reviews, as well as all the mainstream advertisers. Even with a cover CD! But this year, I decided to upgrade my old 386, and mainstream adverts seemed too pricey. I took up MCM again (now at £1.10 pw), and this time looking through the private and trade ... Read the complete review

If ever you want to slap a new system together for the lowest possible price, you should be looking for components in Micro Mart. Rather then containing ads and catalogues from the big dealers such as dabs and Simply, it's chock full of smaller companies offering - in many cases - the same components as the bigger chains. At a much lower price! Be warned though, some of the seedier ones have prety poor service, and some products can arrive in bad condition (if they ever arrive). This is very much the exception, however. If you're looking to put together a machine of higher quality, you would be better off with someone like dabs straight off, since at ... Micro Computer Mart. Yes it looks flimsy and yes the print can come off on your hands but hey, you've got soap haven't you? For £1.10 every week you get a magazine packed with adverts (trade and classfied) helping you find that piece of hardware for a price that often makes Dixons, Currys and PC World sweat. Through the classified ads you may just find that graphics card you've been looking for, or that ISA hardware modem. The magazine does have a tendancy to print classified adverts more than once on the same page but that can only benefit the seller! Don't forget that you can place a small classified ad for FREE so you may just sell that old ... Read the complete review
