Advantages: not many

Disadvantages: propaganda material for an overpriced venue

Maybe I'm missing the point but Ministry magazine is a waste of money - certainly on it's editorial content, what little of it there is. It seems to me that the features have little depth (fashion spreads of a clubber's wardrobe and as a lot of clubbers seem to dress the same, this is a waste of time. Like a number of specialist magazines, the cycle of features goes round and round, northwest clubs in edition 1 (for instance) would be shown again in issue 7 (I've stopped getting the magazine when I saw how quickly the repeatitive it started to become.

To be fair, there have been some okay and well writen pieces within it's covers but they were few and far between and they overdo the adverts. Considering that it is a propaganda publication for The Ministry Of Sound as well as the external adverts could with the admission costs of the venues, I would say that they could easily afford to send the magazine out free of charge to it's regular customers (CD as well) as it is not a 'proper' magazine (it would also be tax efficient for them to do so - they'd still have advertising revenue and would be able to charge more due to a higher circulation.

One word to sum the magazine up as it is - crap.

I've got to question how you think that Ministry mag could possibly be a propaganda machine ? Yes it's an advert for the name that Ministry have but a lot of the reviews are open on Ministry releases and the club reviews feature everwhere in the UK . You could rip out the ministry related bits of the mag and still have 90% of it left . How could any brand feasibly support giving away a magazine for nothing ?
