Advantages: a great mag

Disadvantages: orientated towards people looking to buy bikes and there is an awful lot of advertising.

MBUK is a long standing mountain biking magazine for people who are prepared to spend a lot on their bike. IOt is edited by Tym Manley, and has a number of in house writers and riders who work for the magazine full time.

The magazine layout usually follows a certain template, although this is sometimes relaxed.

SECTION 1 is usually a short article on a certain event that is happening on or near the time of publishing. THis could be anyhting from a bike race down a ski run to the Red bull x-fighters competition.

SECTION 2 is HYPE!, which gives a general overview of what has happened in the world of mountain biking since the last issue and of any new kit that has come out.

SECTION 3 is WRECKED AND RATED, which is the kit and bikes that the team have rated that month. This features veryb extensive test, and I personally trus everything they say.

SECTION 4 is THE TRAIL MASTER, in which Russell Burton rides a trail and then reviews it. This can be very useful if you are looking for somewhere to go mountain biking near you.

there can be any number of articles in between these.

Mountain biking UK features all forms of mountain biking and I have found it to be a reliable source of sound Mountain biking knowledge. It also shows you how to do specific stunts and tricks, and how to cycle faster.

I get every months copy of MBUK, and reccomend it to anybody interested in mountain biking.
