Along with all the usual run of the mill basics, are more advanced things like two handed tapping (which I m not a bi... A cd is always included with each copy -which adds to the appeal greatly. The magazine is a mixture of interviews with famous guitarists, reviews of new (and sometimes vintage) guitars/ amps/ pedals etc, adverts (generally useful ones -or at least fun to read/ drool over), album/ track reviews (including readers own music that they send in), and most importantly... and this is why most folks buy it... guitar tabs of famous songs and guitar lesson.... Wandering in to Virgin one day (as it still was at the time), Metal Hammer immediately caught my eye, as on the cover were the singers of two of my favourite bands at the time and well, I just had to give it a read. Opening it up, I found a whole array of articles, on numerous bands I had an interest in. There was far more content in it than it s weekly rival, which was to be expected, but as I read i... Kerrang! ... Magazine for most people is a household name. You will either relate it to as that Goth mag , sell-out trash , or cutting edge - whichever opinion you share of the weekly rock magazine, it s been one of the longest running glossy publications in the UK since it emerged from the pull-out pages of more mainstream magazines in the early 80s. Throughout the life of Kerrang! it is quite clearly an extension of a commercial magazine. This become more evident in the late 80s to early 90s when it was originally a Metal magazine, featuring a vast array of new wave UK talent. Once the Glam rock scene became big in USA, Kerrang! noticed the increase in record sales and... Read the full review: The Magazine That Built An Empire by Lehen |
