I received a subscription to New internationalist magazine from my Dad. I have been studying for a degree in politics for the past 3 years and have found many interesting topics brought to my attention through my studies. Last summer my Dad subscribed to the NewInternationalist for me as it contains a wealth of information on many different topics that have been raised by my studies.

The magazine is centred around the quest for universal human rights and justice for all.

The magazine is published once a month and features a main topic every issue. This month the topic is about slavary whereas last month the issue was the plight of the people in India facing the effects of the Narmada dam.

Each article gives in-depth information about the issue and they talk to real people who are involved in the situation.

I was amazed how engrossed i got in the magazine and in the issue itself. The articles are extremely well written.

This maagzine is aimed at anyone who cares about human rights, the environment, global justice. Anyone who has a social conscience will get something from this magazine, i know I have. I am not a socialist or an eco-warrior. I'm not a big doer and I'm more of an arm chair critic, who likes to hear and learn about these things but nver really does anything about them. I am guilty of this as I'm sure many of you reading this are. I think education about these issues is very important.

This magazine has definately opened my eyes to the world and to the isues that face people everyday. It is not a magazine that preaches at you. it provides the real facts about an issue and aims to educate people without them realising it!

It isn't a long magazine and it doesn't take that long to read but the information it packs in is incredible.

The New Internationalist has certainly made me think more about many issues and I will definately be re-newing my subscription


I would highly recommend this magazine to anyone who likes to learn more about the greater world!
