Advantages: Fun to read, informative

Disadvantages: Not enough on finance etc

What I really like about New Woman is that it doesn't make thirty-something women feel too old to read it! Other women's magazines are either clearly targeted at the very young single girl or have a different focus completely.
It's an easy-to-read, informative and funny magazine. The one-page sections on friends, relationships, work and money are always fascinating, with plenty of tips and real-life situations. The features are well written and not too long and there's a good balance between light-hearted and serious. Plus you get the feel from the magazine that the staff who produce it are having a ball so you get that 'feel-good' factor.
The fashion and beauty sections are not too bulky (don't you hate it when half of a magazine is taken up with models staring moodily at you?!) and the prices are usually not too outrageous for us mere mortals. The magazine has started a regular 'Celebrity Spy' pullout, which is not to my taste but would be fun for those who like to know about the rich and famous.
The only improvement I would make is giving extra coverage to finance and money because us independent women want to know how to make more of it! I think New Woman would be able to approach the issues of shares investing and setting up in business in an entertaining but informative way.
