Advantages: Great features, fun read, normal fashion and aimed at normal women
Disadvantages: It's only once a month
I have been a subscriber of New Woman for a couple of years and I think it is the best women’s magazine going. Unlike many others it seems to relate to “normal” women.
The clothing featured is normally within a reasonable price budget and is not too …well…strange. Sometime magazines feature clothing that quite frankly, you couldn’t possibly walk down the street in, NW is different. Sometime they feature some more wacky stuff or something only Kate Moss could afford, but generally they are very realistic.
Another thing I like about the mag is they way the sections are laid out. For instance, you get a health section which includes readers questions with answers as well as new things of interest or information such as breast checks, sexually transmitted diseases etc. There are usually sections on heath, work, love, money, friends, beauty etc. each is set out in a very easy to read format and gives relevant, easy to understand information.
There are also the usual sex stories, things about men and how to keep them etc. All the usual stuff you come to expect from women’s mags. Also you get horoscopes, readers letters, bloke jokes and weird willy! Yes you read that right – some are long, some short, some pierced, some tattooed and some downright strange!
All in all this is one good monthly read. I would recommend any woman who hasn’t given it a try let to do so. They will be pleasantly surprised.
