Advantages: Cheap price., good range of articles
Disadvantages: Too many fashion pages.
Even though at first the title may seem a bit old fashioned or old, it is anything but that. After growing up reading magazines such as Just 17 and Sugar I decided it was time for me to venture into the 'bigger' magazines. This was the first one I ever bought, basically because of the cheap price, it was the cheapest out of all the bigger magazines. So I sat down to read and was extremely pleased that I couldn't finish it all in one sitting. I found myself going back to it and because it had such a wide range of article subjects I could pick and choose due to my mood. The only off-putting thing I find about these type of magazines is the amount of pages they devote to fashion (or what they like to call fashion!) and this magazine isn't really much different, so that was a bit dissapointing but all of these types of magazines are like that so I suppose you cant really get away from it! I suppose, being a student these clothes dont appeal to me because of the huge prices on them! The reason I pick these sorts of magazines over ones directed towards my age is because even now they seem to be getting too immature for me and magazines like 'New Woman' offer a much more mature insight (or maybe I'm just growing up too quickyly!) To sum up, I like this magazine, because even though it does have the flaws that most large magazines does, it offers a healthy balance between real-life stories, articles and advice, and doesn't concentrate too much on the 'extremely interesting' life of celebrities!
