Advantages: Great read, Informative, Fun
Disadvantages: Too many adverts
I have never been one for buying a regular women's magazine, monthly or weekly, but I recently had the opportuniy to read my colleague copy of New Woman. Well I can now say I am a regular buyer!!! As always (and this is the thing that annoys me about magazines!!) there are loads of adverts, big glossy 1 or 2 page ones, but putting this aside I found it to be a good read. On just about every page there are letters from readers asking about particular issues, including the usual fashion and makeup questions through points of view on articles they have printed, and then onto money and business matters. I think that I can safely say that there is something for every woman in this magazine. The fashion is not all centred around the waif figure and includes fashion tips for us real women (no offense to the slim women amongst us!!). There was an article in this month's issue covering what men really think of you naked, and it was a refreshing change that it was not all centred on the slim one with the larger chest and longer shapely legs. Three women were chosen for this article, and they covered the general spectrum of women. There was not one nasty comment, and none of the comments seemed to have been said just to make everyone feel better, they included arguments as to why they liked the three women for their different aspects. Another article that was included was about a young women who works for company looking after delegates for conferences. She happened to be in a hotel where she was taken hostage by Chechyan rebels. She discusses what actually happened, how she and the other people felt, and how she has been since, (I won't go into all the detail in case you get a chance to read it!). The fashion articles, as mentioned before, do not centre on just slim people, and for example this month there are suggestions as to what type of shorts different shaped women would be better wearing, and then t
here is a bit about what colours are in. There is always something about how to update your wardrobe, either on a budget or if you are feeling more flush there are "treats". The really good thing about this magazine is that there is also an online version which can be found at www.newwoman.co.uk, and you can also opt for the newsletter to be e-mailed to you. If you get the chance, please have a look and make up your own mind, you might like it!!

Redhead23 - 03/07/01 Nice Op on a great magazine for REAL women :)
You seem to be mixing up the issues though, the comparison of the 3 women was from the month before last, the hostage story was in this month's issue though.
