Advantages: Good articles
Disadvantages: Too exspensive, For adults
Read the title, notice the title, understand the title, its all true, the magazine is for women not teenagers and I say from having the experience of reading the magazine myself at the age of 14.
Each month, I hop along to the shops, usually before a BIG sleepover with my mates OR a long 5 hour car or coach trip to Manchester to watch my favourite team play a game of football. I always, yes always buy MY issue of BLISS (Read previous opinion on the mag if interested!) But last month I look around in the shop with my dad shouting at me from outside, Emma Emma we're going to miss the coach! And I stare with discomfort and horror that my usual magazine is NO WHERE in sight! With my papa still shouting from outside I realise its either another mag or NOTHING= A boring coach journey! I look around pick up a pink issue of 'NEW WOMAN' It has a picture of the lovely JLO (Jennifer Lopez) on the front, this looks interesting, I think, I look at the hefty price and pay my way so I get to the coach on time!!!!! (It was VERY expensive actually at £2.50 an issue!)
So what did I think, well the cover title basically gives it away! The magazine is definitely a womans magazine and if you'll look down the last 10 opinions on this magazine I'm sure they'll all nearly be positive ones! Whilst this opinion is positive and negative. Mostly negative for myself as I didn't enjoy reading the mag but then I respect other people who enjoy the mag~Older women=No offence ladies!
I'm used to my games, my truths and dares in MY BLISS which I can share with mates and laugh about! I always have a giggle at all the funny stories about the boys, I can look at cheap reasonable make up aimed at younger teenagers. The problem pages are so much more helpful to me and lots lots more!
Where as in the issue of 'New Woman' I found issues on more adultive subjects, a whole game on sex (Not much use to me at the present moment!) Q&
#39;s and Answers to adult questions on finance, love making and jobs~Not any use to me either! The make up and clothes that are advertised in the magazine are highly priced, the stuff celebrities use to look so great! I don't have that kind of money, nice to look at but not to buy! The articles on TV, Music, Films, DVD's and books were OK~The films were all 15's and 18's though~I'm not saying I haven't EVER watched a film of that rating but I do usually go for the other certificate films! All other comments were alright to read in this section! I read the article on Jennifer Lopez which I found interesting so I'll give the mag at least some credit!
Overall I think the magazine is for adults and I made the mistake of not really reading the title and understanding it too well! Next time I'll stick with my BLISS thanks! Many people say the magazine is a SEX MAG and I agree in many ways! Why don't you give it a read and see what you think~Let me know what you think as well, whether you are young or older teenager or woman, whatever the age see what you think~Do you agree or disagree with me!?
