New Woman was launched with a strong message. It wanted to write for modern women who were concerned about the world in which they lived. It started out feisty and exciting. Then, somewhere along the line, it completely lost direction. When Options launched it seemed to be trying to emulate that - lots of pictures, no content. Options of course, died a horrible death. NW is hanging in there, but really looks like a poor imitation of Company, perhaps for those a year or two older. American New Woman is excellent - if you prefer reading to looking at pictures. I used to buy its UK sister faithfully - every single edution from the first. Now I pick it up occasionally to see if it's worth taking it home. But as I can read everything in it in about 10 minutes flat, it never seems worth it.
