Advantages: Nice Pictures, good Tips
Disadvantages: Horribly biased, poorly researched, badly presented
....as a form of humourous relief. My brother likes Pokemon, and so bought the magazine for a fair while, as most issues had pokemon coverage or a free gift. I would spend a little time reading it, and it never ceased to amaze me how incredibly poor the magazine is. Reviews consist of artwork first, then some pictures with captions which the writers probably found funny, and about 100 words of information about the good bits of the game. The tips section is probably the only useful section of the magazine, and the only bit worth keeping. The more you read this magazine, the more you will laugh. If a game is developed by Nintendo or Rare, it is amazing. If it features any Pokemon, it is amazing. If it is also available on Playstation or Dreamcast (that's Greystation or Dreampants to them) then the N64 version is the best one available! What also strikes me is the devastating lack of research they do. The one incident that always sticks in my mind comes from a preview of WWF Wrestlemania 2000, in a caption of a picture of a match between Edge and Chyna. The caption read: "Top of the bill tonight is Edge vs Chyna, and we wouldn't bet against a man as hard as our Chyna." Not a particularly great caption, apart from the glaring error: CHYNA IS FEMALE. If this was an expensive magazine, I'd advise you just to ignore it. But if you ever have a few spare coins, go and buy it. Their incredible bias towards Nintendo is just funny. But only buy it once. Oh, and despite their worship of Pokemon, my brother still beat the editor at the Pokemon Challenge! So ha!
