One of many music magazines available in newsagents and supermarkets across the land, although this is one of the better ones. The NME which originally started out as a printed newspaper many decades ago has developed to become one of the most popular glossy music magazines available. Partly due to its choice a few years ago to follow mainly "indie" music which has paid off due to its recent flourish of popularity.

A typical NME is 70 to 80 pages long and packed with reviews of CD's, DVD's and concerts as well as interviews with bands and solo artists. Another major feature in its success is its large index of upcoming concerts which allows music lovers to easily find a concerts they will be interested in in their local area. This also gives young bands a chance to advertise themselves to the world and hopefully bring in new fans. Each week they provide their own top ten for both albums and singles which also allows less known of bands to get a wider fan bas. For example in the 21/07/07 issue Hentchemen With Jack White are in at no. ten in the album chart.

The final major pull for the magazine would be its frequent giveaways which in the past have included cds and vinyls of major artists.

Overall a fine magazine for music lovers especially if you want to go to more gigs as im sure youll find one that appeals in the gigs section. The only downside is the amount of advertising throughout the magazine. The best bit it only costs £2.10 or even less if you subscribe.

Summary: You should definately try it one for £2.10
