Advantages: Nice phtography

..not that Marie Claire is that good, but Nova is from the same stable, and it does include very Marie-claire-esque articles. The naked women for example, the full body length shots are very Marie-Claire esqe, and most of the time pointless. I bought the first edition, and the shock tactics were the first things that struck me. The "pubic hair" designs for example, what was the point? Well I'm sure noboday has seen something like that for quite a while, but still, if Nova were really feeling brave maybe they should've used real models..(not that I have an obsession with naked women) but the whole thing was just so POINTLESS and PRETENCIOUS to be interesting. The fasion element, surely the most important, was a bit sketchy - a bit about high street stuff, but alot about couture, the top notch stuff that lets face it, you probably can't afford. I reallky can't imagine a really rich woman reading Nova over her lunch in Soho. Because it's just not that classy. If you are interested in Fashion, I'd recommend Looks instead, it is a brilliant magazine for getting ideas on fashion and trends, and it is unpretencious, unlike Nova, that must think it's something good becasue they feature a awful lots of supermodels, and it was a big magazine........once. Here though, I can't quite picture a market, I thought it would've been for trendy teens, early twenties, but its market seems to be a niche becuase I certainyl couldn't find much that was good about it. The photography in general was of a high standard though, but once again, quite Marie-Claire esque. For 2.80 there are much better magazines to buy, unless you like typical pretencios poseur stuff (think ID, Face, Dazed and Confused) then your on the right track.
