Advantages: Full of the latest celebrity gossip and 3 magazines in one.
Disadvantages: The price.
OK magazine is a weekly glossy magazine filled with celebrity stories. I do buy it occassionally but find it is too expensive and is overfilled with pictures. I prefer closer magazine as it is less than half the price and seems to have more to read.
Ok comes out on a tuesday and retails for £2.95, it is the first for celebrity news and you also get two other magazines, Hot Stars and OK USA. It has all the latest celebrity gossip and interviews, a fashion section and regular features such as 'dear Jordan'.
It is a good magazine and I do enjoy reading it however the price puts me off buying it, spending just short of three pound a week adds up to over a hundred and fifty pounds a year, and being a mum to three young boys I like to avoid such costs on magazines.
Every issue there is one main cover story, often with celebs like Jordan, Kerry Katona, Cheryl Cole, Victoria Beckham etc. This will take up between 6 and 12 pages of the magazine and although the interview is usually an exclusive most of the pages are filled with pictures of the stars. This is continues throughout the magazine with quite a lot of interviews and stories but again lots of pictures and not much writing.
The Hot Stars magazine is quite a good magazine in its own right, it often has celebrity stories but also had diet and travel sections. There is also a television guide which always comes in handy.
OK USA is exactly what it sound like, an American version of the mag. It is only small, with maybe 20 pages of extracts from the US magazine but again always useful to catch up with whats happening in America.
So for your £2.95 you get three celebrity magazines in one but overall I think it is over priced and filled with too many pictures. Also a lot of the 'exclusive' stories featured in OK you will find in the papers anyway.
I do still buy it occassionally though, usually if on holiday or something.
Summary: Is a good magazine if you're prepared to pay the price.
