Closer Magazine ... books which is sponsored by AVON. The rest of the magazine, bar the last page, is dedicated to the TV guide. The TV guide is probably helpful if you get Closer the day it s released but if, like me, you don t get the newest edition until the Tuesday after it s released, then the TV guide becomes useless as most of the week is out of date. The last two pages are the horoscopes (yawn) and another of my favourites My Guilty Pleasures where a celebrity tells us all about his or her guilty pleasures. So there you have it. You can probably tell that I ve really gone off Closer magazine recently. Why pay almost Euro3 for a magazine when I already know all of the gossip... CrossStitcher Magazine ... as cross stitching was some of the old fashioned designs I d seen so I was pleasantly surprised by some of the modern designs featured here. At first I was a fan of detailed pictures of individual flowers and Cross Stitcher has featured a few of these as patterns as well as giving ideas for similar kits. Now I have a baby I enjoy looking for suitable patterns to stitch for her and this is another strong area for this magazine. On the negative side I don t really like many of the kits that are given away (but the other gifts ie thread cutters etc are great) and some of the designs featured are a bit twee for me, but this shows the diversity of audience and designs in... Closer Magazine ... is one of my favourite magazines for keeping up with all the celebrity gossip and generally being very nosey into other people s lives! I enjoy this as it is a quick light hearted read. This magazine comes out every week and always has a good few celeb features, as well as the latest diet advice and fashion pieces. They also do features on real peoples unusual lives and experiences which always make for interesting reading. In the fashion sections I have noted that they always try to cater for their whole market, for example showing how to wear the latest styles and trends depending on your body shape and type.
