“ Everything the parrot lover could want in a magazine. „
I have subscribed to Parrot Magazine since the very first issue, some five or six years ago. For the parrot owner there is no better mag. It has always been a bi-monthly publication, until recently when it changed to monthly. It covers items relating to all parrots and parrot like birds, including budgies etc. There are many topics covered by the magazine such as: Vetenary care – articles written by vets to outline what to look for when your bird appears unwell. It shows effects of various illnesses and injuries and gives a detailed UK wide list of vets who specialise on avian matters. There is also a Q&A section so if you have worries you can ask the vet. Bird behaviour – these articles cover issues such as feather plucking, aggression, social skills and general training issues. Breeding – Everything from what sort of nest your bird is likely to build to mating behaviour and how to hand rear chicks. Conservation – most issues cover this subject, usually giving pictures of areas where birds are under threat or being wild caught for export. Shows – details of forthcoming shows and events relating to birds – these cover the whole world. Q & A section – this is where readers can write in to ask the various expert questions relating to all aspects of parrot care. Readers Stories – Lots of stories from readers all over the world. Some are very funny, some very moving and some informative – well worth reading. Stateside – stories from parrot lovers in America Adverts – Everything you could possibly want for your feathered friend, from cages, toys, harnesses, to holiday homes, insurance and of course birds themselves. Just about everything you could want to know about parrots, you will find in one of the issues. If there are things you want to see featured – just write in and ask. You can also order back issues, either from the mag or on their
website www.parrotmag.com. It is printed on good quality paper and comes in excellent colour. Just what you need when dealing with these beautiful birds. The only other magazine covering birds in any detail is Bird Keeper, but this not only covers parrots, but all other birds, such as finches and birds of prey etc. Parrot mag is the only one to specialise in Parrots. If you have a parrot – then get this magazine, you will not be disappointed.
