Advantages: Great Content, Quality reviews, DVD issue available
Disadvantages: Media (CD/DVD) quality has fallen in the past
I have read PC Gamer for the last 3 yrs and have to say I consider this to be the best of its genre. Previously i had enjoyed PCFormat which was slowly deteriorating into Advertisement City. A friend recommended PCG and i was instantly impressed; if i EVER consider buying a game I will check what PCG has said beforehand - they have got reviewing down to a tea and have been proven correct consistently. They have the right balance of previews / reviews / hardware / online within the magazine - the majority of which will keep your interest. The CDRom/DVD is generally pretty good, although I've had a couple of DVDs never work. Occaisionally the content of them falls in quality (you notice the amount of shareware will increase as good commercial games decrease), but is great for getting a flavour of some of the best games out there before you buy - and they provide lots of patches so you don't spend hours downloading them youself. Forget the rest - try the best; PCG
