Advantages: There are lots of real life stories and things for you to read.

Disadvantages: Some of the stories are pointless.

'Pick Me Up' is a magazine full of real life stories. A new copy comes out every Thursday and it costs 68p.

Pick Me Up has many stories in that have been sent in by readers. The story lengths vary which is very convenient so you can read them in between doing things. Some of the other sections in the magazine are:

That's good to know
This page is full of people's tips and ideas the tips vary from how to remove stains to how to keep fruit ripe longer. To be honest most of the tips are quite obvious and pointless but every now and then there is a good one that I will use.

Could you love me?
This is just small section which each week shows six animals that need to be re-homed. This week's pets include: dogs, cats and rabbits. Each animal has a picture of it, then a comment under it saying if it likes children etc and then details of the website that you can contact if you are interested in any of them. I think it's good how they have used a popular magazine to help find homes for animals. I'm sure when someone looks at this section they will fall in love with one of them and want them as a pet.

TODDLYGOOK
This page is full of photos of toddlers that people have sent in, with them doing funny things or just looking cute. For every photo and letter printed on this page you get £25.00.

Bargain fashion
Two pages which are dedicated to bargain fashion. The good thing about these fashion outfits are that they are ones that you can buy at cheap high street shops such as Asda, Matalan, Peacocks, BHS, QS and Dorothy Perkins. Each shop has a few outfits showed that you can buy from there. To be honest I like most of the outfits that they put on these two pages as they are normally trendy and cheap.

Health S.O.S
Four pages which have health advice, health stories and health facts. I always find myself reading these pages some of the questions make me cringe others I actually learn from. It's good to read about the advice that is given.

Jeremy Kyle
Most of us already have heard of Jeremy Kyle as he has his own chat show. These two pages have questions written in for him to give advice on. Some of them you can imagine him answering on his show like: 'Too Controlling', 'I'm ruining my daughters life' etc. His advice is always to the point and honest. He also gives his opinion each week of a story that has featured in the magazine.

Puzzles
At the back of the magazines there are various puzzles that you can complete. Some of them are just for fun and the answers are at the back. There are also ones that you can write your answers at the back and send off to see if you win one of the cash prizes. This week there are five with prizes.

Overall I think this magazine is quite good as there are loads of stories to read through, even if some aren't so good. I normally love reading celebrity magazines but every now and then it is nice to read one with real life stories in rather then ones the press have made up. Another thing that I like about this magazine is that it's not just full of things about diets etc. I do find magazines with diet tips in helpful but sometimes it's nice having a break from hearing how slim and healthy you should be. I would recommend that you have a read of this magazine but not everyone will like it.
