Popular Crafts is my favourite craft magazine. It is absolutely jam-packed with ideas. - Advantages: Very inspirational, Projects for all ages/skills, Reasonalbly priced - Disadvantages: Only comes out monthly!

I really enjoy reading this magazine and look forward to each issue. It is packed full of fantastic craft projects that you can try out. I am the sort of person who will try anything and usually do. Whenever I look through the crafts magazines in WHSmiths I feel disappointed that most of them seem to be aimed at artists and professionals. That is why I like Popular Crafts as it is designed for the amateur (or semi-amateur) crafter. I think it costs about £2.60 which is not too expensive compared to a lot of the cross stitch magazines on the market. Each issue features a large variety of projects including ones aimed at youngsters. The instructions are easy to follow and the projects are suitable for beginners and the more experienced. Three are three craft magazines on the news stands at the present time and if you were to put them into order, this would come second. (To Crafts Beautiful; Practical Crafts would come last) This is a nice title, don't get me wrong, only I find the content often a little twee. The craft projects featured more often than not do not appeal to my taste. I prefer crafts to be a bit funky, clever, dazzling, using new techniques and products. To me, Popular Crafts seem to appeal to 'grannies' - no offence to grannies of course, but it's just not my style.
